Review:
Utilizing Ivermectin as Possible Treatment for COVID
Ivermectin, The Repurposed Drug’s Potential Against the Global Health Crisis
In this article we explore results of different studies to better understand the potentials of Ivermectin with COVID-19.
Ivermectin’s overall effect is very statistically significant. There are 4 randomized controlled trials (RCT) and 3 observational trials (OBS) all showing the same thing — that Ivermectin saves lives. It is a safe drug. 3.7 billion people have been treated with it (not for COVID, but for other conditions over the life of the drug), and it has a profound safety profile.

Numerous studies have provided evidence supporting the use of ivermectin to prevent and treat COVID-19, according to the FLCCC Alliance.
Ivermectin & COVID Treatments
The Front Line Covid-19 Critical Care (FLCCC) Alliance has developed a prophylactic and early outpatient combination treatment protocol for COVID-19 called I-Mask+ , centered around the use of Ivermectin.
FLCCC: One Page Summary of the Clinical Trials Evidence for Ivermectin in COVID-19

“This slide needs to be shared,” according to Dr. Marik, “because IVERMECTIN SAVES LIVES.” The data speaks for itself. The NIH, CDC, WHO need to realize we have convincing data.

I-MASK+ Prophylaxis & Early Outpatient Treatment Protocol for COVID-19
Currently, the I-MASK + protocol is an evolution of the MATH+ protocol and instead is intended for early treatment; for both prophylaxis and for early outpatient treatment after contracting COVID-19.
This protocol is centered around the use of Ivermectin, an anti-parasitic drug that has also shown anti-viral and anti-inflammatory properties. As discussed in Dr. Marik’s presentation, there is a published medical evidence base indicating Ivermectin’s unique and powerful ability to inhibit SARS-CoV-2 replication.
Dr. Marik is a Professor of Medicine and Chief of the Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine Division at Eastern Virginia Medical School.
Ivermectin for Prophylaxis (Prevention)
The results are even more dramatic.
COVID has various phases: the pre- and post-incubation phase, symptomatic phase, and pulmonary/inflammatory phase, and Ivermectin has shown to be effective in all these phases. What is so remarkable is that it is inexpensive, easy to administer and is safe.
What you need to understand about COVID:
There are various phases:
- Incubation period
- Symptomatic
- Pulmonary/ Inflammatory phase. You do not have viral replication in this phase. (once they are in the hospital). So giving an antiviral is pointless —you can’t kill something that is already dead. Use antivirals up front, not when they are in the hospital. Ivermectin is a potent anti-inflammatory drug.

*Post-exposure prophylaxis: someone was exposed to COVID (example someone that lives in your household has COVID)
*Pre-exposure prophylaxis: someone was not yet exposed but is likely to be exposed (example healthcare workers)

Many are treating patients incorrectly.
It can work in all phases, but try to treat early to keep them out of the hospital!!

The Issues We Are Facing
The NIH has been slow to respond and there is a lot of data on treatments that have been spoken about when COVID first appeared.
We need to treat people early at home. Dr. Marik questions how the NIH can have absolutely no recommendations for early treatment. Ivermectin can be used to treat in early phase and late phase.
“Ivermectin is a life-saving intervention to treat COVID and to prevent COVID, the data is irrefutable”, says Dr. Marik.
The problem: NIH wants randomized controlled trials to ok a treatment. However, you cannot do these trials in a pandemic. It’s unethical to give a placebo during this situation. We also do not have the time to carry out studies over a long term for the immediate problems.

Dr. Marik wrote the first MATH+ protocol, which was described by Dr. Mobeen as the first “ray of light” for COVID containment and management, intended for hospitalized patients.
Dr. Mobeen says, with Ivermectin, you see patients recover in only a few days. It seems to work so quickly.
He often treats patients with COVID when they become unstable and the doctors refer them off to him.

Dr. Pierre Kory testifies to Senate Committee about Ivermectin, Dec. 8, 2020
Dr. Pierre Kory’s solution to the crisis is Ivermectin. He spoke during an emotional Senate hearing to ask the NIH to look at existing drugs to repurpose for COVID-19. He said that there is not a task force to focus on repurposed drugs and that is what his group has done. In this video, he reviews the information about the drug and says that we do not have time to wait for peer-reviewed studies.
Dr. Kory is the president of the Front Line COVID-19 Critical Care (FLCCC) Alliance, a nonprofit critical care specialist organization led by Dr. Paul Marik.
COVID Vaccination Progress
“Even with a rapid rollout of vaccines, the U.S. may reach a total of more than half a million deaths by the spring”,
Dr. Mokdad of the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation
Vaccination is important and part of the solution, but you cannot wait and do nothing — hoping that it will solve. It will take many months until we have adequate herd immunity. There are many things we can do in the interim to prevent people from getting infected or getting crucially ill. We already see things moving at a slower pace than expected with vaccine distribution.
We have an approach in which we can help control the Pandemic. There is not one single silver bullet but we know we need to treat people early and be able to treat them at home, before they get sick enough to get into the hospital.
“Ivermectin Saves Lives”
Dr. Marik
The previous focus on treating only hospitalized patients is considered a failure. We need to treat prophylactically and then if they get it, treat very early to make sure they don’t go to the hospital.
Post-COVID Syndrome
Another issue — people have a post-COVID syndrome. This means they have lingering ongoing symptoms and are called “long haulers”. People can develop new autoimmune conditions after recovering.
No Time to Waste
According to Dr. Marik: We have faced a failure of a healthcare system and COVID infection rates have been escalating. COVID really exists, and COVID is not the flu, no matter how you look at it. More than 300,000 people have died in the United States and the true number is probably in excess of this. We have a higher mortality than any other country in the world for COVID. We have to do everything possible right now and wait while the vaccination is distributed and administered. Also, there are many people who defer, or will choose not to get vaccinated at all. We will still have COVID to treat.

Reducing Risk of COVID
These are things that every single person can do to try to reduce their risk.
How much evidence do we need? It’s a risk benefit ratio. These are all safe interventions and inexpensive.
Vitamin D
There is overwhelming evidence that Vitamin D reduces risk of getting COVID and also reduces the risk of dying if you have it. Randomized trial shows that it clearly reduces mortality. There is a strong link between Vitamin D status and outcome. There are not massive studies but there is enough evidence to show these drugs will make a difference. Learn More
Quercitin + Vitamin C
Healthcare workers that took this together significantly reduced their risk of getting COVID. There is now a randomized trial that proves that this combo reduces your risk of getting COVID. You do not need a 50K-patient study to take this.
Melatonin
There is data that people who take it have a reduced risk of contracting COVID.
Zinc
Many people are zinc-deficient, and it is very important for the immune system. It inhibits viral replication.
