We are all well aware that traveling is not as easy as it used to be, and we now have concerns that we would never have imagined before the pandemic. International destinations may have their unique requirements for entry, such as proof of vaccinations, country-specific mandatory travel insurance, Covid pre-travel tests, masks, and possibly more.
My husband and I recently took a trip to St Maarten/St Martin, a dual-nation island in the Caribbean. There were a lot of “what-ifs” that went through my mind about potentially getting Covid while there or testing positive on the mandatory test required to get back into the United States. Everyone has heard plenty of Covid travel horror stories, and regardless if you travel internationally or not, getting sick right before or during travel is a stressful potential reality.

Negative results! We were allowed back into the US
Great news…as of mid-June, we are no longer required to test before returning to the US, but it is still not on anyone’s wish list to get sick while traveling.
Thankfully, our immune systems cooperated, and we had negative results. We could thoroughly enjoy our last day on the beautiful island, and then we successfully boarded our flight for the US the following day. We traveled in May when the Covid test was still required one day before returning to the US.
