IVs are absorbed much better than oral supplements.
With an IV infusion, vitamins are absorbed more efficiently and completely because they are infused directly into the bloodstream, bypassing the stomach. The immediate high concentrations delivered throughout the body can result in immediate and significant absorption, often resulting in quicker results for the patient.
When vitamins are taken orally, the body can only absorb so much at once. If the same high doses of vitamins in a Myers’ Cocktail infusion were taken orally, they would mostly be eliminated (not absorbed) and very irritating to the stomach.

Vitamin infusions are necessary only 1–4 times per month. The nutrients given directly to the bloodstream last longer than oral supplements, which must be taken daily.
