Doctors trust Town & Country Compounding for high-quality compounded Semaglutide and Tirzepatide.
We compound quality.
“Ozempic” has become a catchphrase in the general public for various GLP-1 agonist drugs that are used in weight loss and diabetes, with the active ingredients semaglutide or tirzepatide.
Ozempic®, Wegovy®, and Mounjaro®, have been on the FDA drug shortage list for a while now, which has led to problems with prescriber and patient access.

Prescriber Insight: Importance of Choosing the Right Compounding Pharmacy
One of our prescribers, an integrative cardiologist, discusses his confidence in using Town & Country Compounding Pharmacy for semaglutide and tirzepatide during the FDA drug shortage.
Dr. David Wertheimer, MD is a cardiologist and internist at the Wertheimer Center for Functional Medicine in Franklin Lakes, NJ. He frequently prescribes GLP-1 agonists semaglutide and tirzepatide at Town & Country Compounding Pharmacy while the commercial products are on the FDA drug shortage list.
Dr. Werthimer was quoted in a Medscape article, “Using a compounder allows physicians to precisely tailor doses to minimize side effects and control the rate of weight loss”.
For vetting a compounding pharmacy, Dr. Wertheimer recommends having conversations with the compounding pharmacists at the specific pharmacy for both clinical advice and to give you confidence in the quality of the pharmacy and how they operate.
Wertheimer mentions,
“The pharmacy I use [Town & Country Compounding] is accredited. It’s a state-regulated facility, and they’re very fastidious about the work they do, including sending a sample of each batch of semaglutide to an independent lab to assure purity and formula accuracy.
Like in any area of medicine, there are ethical players and there are people who don’t play by the rules.”
“I recommend Town & Country Compounding to all my patients.”
“Their facility is top-notch. They’ve got a beautiful new lab. You can rely on their compounded medicine.”

Tips about vetting a compounding pharmacy or facility
- Request a tour of the compounding labs.
- Verify whether the company has Pharmacy Compounding Accreditation Board accreditation (PCAB) and/or NABP Accreditation, which is based on compliance with quality and safety standards set by United States Pharmacopeia (USP).
- Town & Country Compounding is!
- Ask where specific ingredients for compounded medications are sourced and whether they meet USP requirements.
- Ask for a certificate of analysis to ensure the pharmacy is using the correct “base” form of the drugs (not the salt forms).
- Ask for documentation that the semaglutide or tirzepatide has undergone potency and sterility testing.
